Daniel Shawn Pickens is the founder of our firm and a dedicated attorney passionate about estate planning, probate, real estate law, personal injury, business law, and contracts. He is also a licensed title agent, regularly handling closings, title work, and policy signings throughout Alabama.
Born and raised in Sheffield, AL, Daniel’s background includes collegiate golf, coaching, and firefighting before attending Birmingham School of Law, where he earned:
- Outstanding 1L Award
- Dean’s List every semester
- Top marks in multiple core courses
Before founding the firm, he served as head women’s golf coach at Calhoun Community College and spent over 6 years as a professional DJ, bringing energy to events across North Alabama.
In his free time, Daniel enjoys golf, hiking, reading, playing chess, and live music.
👨⚖️ Martin J. Humble
Senior Attorney
Martin J. Humble brings over 25 years of legal experience, focusing on litigation management, contract law, transportation matters, and civil practice. He holds a J.D. with honors from Birmingham School of Law and a B.S. in Business Management from The University of Alabama.
Martin has held leadership positions at Crawford & Company, where he led litigation strategy and oversaw multi-state operations. His expertise includes municipal liability, commercial claims, and contractual disputes. He also holds an Associate in Claims Management certification.
Outside the office, Martin enjoys golfing, hunting, and cheering on Alabama athletics — Roll Tide.
⚖️ Charity Dyer
Family Law Attorney
Charity Dyer is a compassionate family law attorney committed to helping clients through life’s most difficult transitions — from divorce and custody matters to adoption and juvenile cases.
A Huntsville native and one of eight siblings, Charity’s upbringing shaped her understanding of family dynamics and fuels her client-first approach. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Southern Utah University and graduated from Birmingham School of Law while working full-time as a paralegal and law clerk. She passed the Alabama Bar Exam on her first attempt in February 2025.
Charity handles a broad range of family law matters, including:
- Divorce (contested & uncontested)
- Custody and visitation
- Child and spousal support
- Paternity and parental rights
- Modifications and enforcement
- DHR and juvenile court representation
- Stepparent and family adoptions
Known for her empathetic approach, clarity, and courtroom composure, Charity offers clients both emotional steadiness and legal strength.
Outside the office, she enjoys hiking, weightlifting, yoga, whitewater rafting the Ocoee River, and time with her two dogs, Timone and Emmett. A music lover and John Mayer fan, Charity also has a true crime podcast habit and proudly holds the family title of “Aunt Churty.”
Fun fact: she once played rugby in college and spent a year as a missionary in Las Vegas, deepening her faith and dedication to service.

Real Estate Closing Coordinator
Natasha Jones ensures that real estate closings are smooth, timely, and stress-free. With 20+ years of experience and over $50 million in transactions coordinated, Natasha is a powerhouse of reliability and precision.
She thrives in high-stakes environments by:
- Managing timelines
- Coordinating between agents and lenders
- Solving last-minute issues calmly
Originally from Germany, she’s also lived in England and visited Paris, before settling in Athens, AL. In her free time, Natasha enjoys kayaking, camping, and spending time with her husband, two children, and pets.

Paralegal & Client Care Coordinator
Kailynn Turner supports attorneys and clients by drafting legal documents, managing case files, and providing clear communication throughout each matter.
With experience in:

- History and education
Kailynn is known for her timely updates, attention to detail, and genuine care. Originally from South Carolina, she now lives in Alabama with her daughter.
Fun fact: Kailynn is a classically trained violinist who performed throughout high school and college.
